Own a Red Seal Millwright/Artisan qualification obtained through a reputable institution
Must have excellent knowledge, skill set, and experience in the Mechanical and Electrical environment
Experience in electronic systems will be an advantage (PLC, HMI)
Must have a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a similar role
Experience in leading a team or in a capacity as a Supervisor or Team Leader will be advantageous
Must be willing to work extended hours and alternative weekends.
Must have own reliable vehicle
Must be able to easily adapt to a tough working environment and a specific group culture. Hours are long and demanding.
Key responsibilities:
To ensure that the quality of the product that the client supplies to its customers meets the desired standard and specifications. This includes, but is not limited to, the quality and the consistency of the product produced.
Expert and solid experience, knowledge, and skill set in the mechanical and electrical fields
Involvement and leadership in problem solving and continuous improvement of both the product being produced, as well as the operation of the equipment in the department
Developing relevant process controls and ensuring that they are carried out
Maintenance of all equipment
Training of Process Controllers/Trainee Process Artisans
Implementing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program within the department
Purchasing and financial controls on all departmental maintenance expenses to ensure that the department meets its budgetary requirements and commitments
Purchasing and financial controls on all consumable materials are necessary to ensure product quality
Ensuring safety, housekeeping, and health standards are adhered to
