The Meter Reader will be responsible for conducting meter readings and meter audit activities within the project. They must have a thorough understanding of municipal meter reading processes.
The role involves liaising with the project team to ensure the highest levels of quality control in both meter readings and field audit findings. The Meter Reader will add value by gathering, validating, integrating, documenting, and interpreting data from field inspections and audits.
This will support improved data collection for verification and corrective actions, assisting the project team in effectively monitoring and evaluating the project to maximise the accuracy and completeness of actual meter readings.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily monitoring and execution of Meter Reading processes and Field audits and client ad-hoc queries in the field.
Audits, inspections, and deviations with recommendations for corrective action and mitigating actions for work completed in the field and reporting finding to the office team.
Report accurate meter reading and error codes found in the field to the office for further escalation.
Evaluate field QAs from internal teams on Meter Reading contractors' work submitted and ensure errors are escalated accordingly.
Ensure ad-hoc and check readings are executed timeously and feedback provided back to the office within agreed timeframes.
Provide insights from data in the field through recurring and ad hoc findings to the office to ensure escalation to relevant stakeholders.
Ensure all information obtained on field inspections is captured on the field devices and accurately captured to provide as much information to the office team.
Technical/ Proficiency Competencies
Municipal Product knowledge and bylaws
Strong Water Meter and Electrical meter knowledge
Knowledge of various fault/error codes on metering withing a municipal metering environment
Required Qualifications
Plumber or Electrician, similar Qualification
3 years' experience relevant experience in revenue management projects on local government will be an advantage.
Other requirements specific to the job - minimum
Must have a valid driver's license and at least 2 years of experience driving a manual vehicle.
Must reside in the Rustenburg Municipal District
