Division: Wits Diagnostic and Innovation Hub (DIH) Main purpose of the job:
To coordinate and provide technical support to relevant stakeholders for the integration of legacy clinical and laboratory digital systems, including SyNCH and eLABS
To assist with coordinating activities that result in strengthening the integrated system, including training and technical support
Location:
Free State (FS) x2 positions in various areas: Thabo Mafutsanyane, Lejweleputswa
Key performance areas: Programme Coordination and Integration-
Manage and Coordinate all eLABS and SyNCH systems activities in allocated districts
Conduct readiness assessments and oversee district-level rollout activities
Strengthen collaboration with DoH district teams, DSPs, ICT units, and facility staff to ensure smooth implementation and scale-up
Project Planning and Risk Management-
Develop and maintain project plans for supported districts
Identify, monitor, and mitigate risks associated with planned and assigned tasks
System Support and Performance Monitoring-
Coordinate district-level system support, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of ICT/system issues
Monitor system utilisation, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions
Track district performance, utilisation trends, and progress against implementation milestones
Review key performance indicators and assess progress against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
Training, Mentorship, and Capacity Building-
Lead training, mentoring, and coaching of master trainers, district teams, and facility/laboratory staff on eLABS and SyNCH systems
Maintain accurate training records and support sustainable skills transfer
Ensure continuous training and change management to strengthen the clinic-laboratory interface
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Data Use-
Provide input into the development of overall M&E plans
Conduct site visits triggered by deviations from M&E targets and follow-up visits to facilities/laboratories
Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making, patient follow-up, and programme improvements
Stakeholder Communication and Reporting-
Communicate system updates, progress, challenges, and decisions to relevant stakeholders.
Share performance feedback with the Project Manager
Prepare and present trip reports, as well as monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reports for allocated districts
Prepare presentations and related documentation as required
Required minimum education and training:
National Diploma in Biomedical Technology
Professional Body Registration:
Registered with Health Professions Council of South Africa as Medical Technologist
Required minimum work experience:
Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:
Demonstrated experience in Monitoring and Evaluation
Specialization in HIV, TB, and Chronic Diseases is desirable
Experience in stakeholder engagement with the ability to work across facility, district, and partner structures
Experience in health data management, data validation, and interpretation of routine programme reports
Experience coordinating or supporting digital system rollouts, user support, or ICT projects is preferred
Exposure to validation, EQA, and audit processes in a laboratory is desirable
Undertake the implementation and support of the project in laboratories and health care facilities
Experience with the implementation and support of IT application systems will be an added advantage
Teaching and training ability are essential
Troubleshooting skills essential, ability to identify and solve technical issues and conceptualise problems
Ability to work independently, deal with complaints and ability to resolve issues
Be prepared to travel-driving; driver's license mandatory
Competent in the use of Microsoft office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook)
