The Opportunity

A healthcare company is expanding its medical intake operations and is seeking high-caliber Medical Interview Specialists based in South Africa. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting detailed health history interviews with families in the United States who are applying for membership.

This is a sophisticated, tech-forward position. You will utilize a real-time AI assistance platform that helps guide the interview, ensuring every detail is captured accurately while you maintain a professional and empathetic conversation with the applicant.

The Workflow

The process begins with our U.S.-based team, who provides applicants with a program overview. Once that is complete, the applicant is transferred to you to handle the medical intake. Your primary responsibilities include:

Leading structured phone interviews to verify and document medical histories for all family members on an application. Following a dynamic AI guidance system that prompts follow-up questions based on the applicant's specific health responses. Resolving any omissions or unclear timelines regarding diagnoses, medications, and procedures. Reviewing the final AI-generated medical summary and reading it back to the applicant to confirm 100% accuracy before finalizing the file.

Who We Are Looking For

Exceptional Communication:

You must have nearly perfect spoken English with a very clear, neutral accent. It is critical that U.S. applicants can understand you easily without any need for repetition or clarification.

Medical Literacy:

You must be highly comfortable with medical terminology, conditions, and medications. We strongly prefer candidates with a clinical background (Nursing, Medical Assisting, or Allied Health) or significant experience in U.S. medical BPO environments.

Technical Agility:

You should be adept at managing a live conversation while navigating software and ensuring precise documentation.

Professional Setup:

You must have a quiet home office and a reliable, high-speed internet connection with power backup (UPS/Inverter) to remain online during local power outages.

Position Details

Type:

Full-time.

Hours:

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (U.S. Eastern Time), Monday through Thursday.

Sunday Requirement:

Work is required on Sundays at varying hours.

Flexibility:

Some flexibility is required for U.S. evening hours as needed.

Pay:

$7.00 - $9.00 USD per hour, based on experience.
