Job Description

Medical Administration

involves a set of day-to-day activities related to the overall management of the following workflow categories:

Appointment management, Electronic Medical Records management, Patient management, Internal and External Client Relationship management, Schedule management and Unit Administration.

The role has been designed to act as an integral support to the Radiation Oncologists (internal and external), Billing department, Centralized Authorization department, Radiotherapists and the New Patient Journey.

The

Medical Administration Clerk

must ensure the effective and efficient management of the position requirements, at their designated unit, with a strong focus on patient flow; legal framework surrounding their role responsibilities; workflow management and positive relationship building experiences with both the internal and external clients.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:



(i) Knowledge:

facts, information, and skills acquired through experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of the subject.

(ii) Skills:

outlined below are the key skills required to be successful in the post. The candidate should exhibit a sound grasp of the required skills set.

Language skills -

Business proficiency in English (Read, speak and write). (Afrikaans would be advantageous).

Attention to detail -

must be able to complete tasks accurately, effectively and efficiently.

Computer skills -

Must be able to use a computer effectively and understand and utilize the following software packages: MS Word and Excel, Internet Search Engines, Microsoft Outlook, Virtual patient management systems (alike to Mosaiq) and billing information systems (basic knowledge) (alike to ME+.)

Technical ability -

Must exhibit a sound understanding of Office Administration and possess the requisite skills to manage the tasks both effectively and efficiently.

Interpersonal Skills -

Must be able to relate effectively to both internal and external clients, and all stakeholders/shareholders alike. The candidate should have a sound ability to comprehend, think deeply of the interconnected values of task activities.

Problem solving and Decision making -

Must have well developed problem solving skills to resolve routine problems which arise from time to time and maintain client satisfaction at all times.

Stress Tolerance -

Must be an emotionally resilient individual who can cope with pressure and interact effectively in sensitive client interactions.

Planning and Organization Skills -

Schedule planning: Must be able to plan and organize daily, weekly and monthly tasks and take responsibility for the control thereof.

Customer Relationship Management -

Must be able to serve and handle internal and external clients in person or on the telephone and electronically as set out in the employee induction training program, in English, Afrikaans would be advantageous.

Negotiation and Consideration Skills -

Must be able to negotiate and be considerate in problem solving.

Basic numerical skills are required for this position



(iii) Experience:



2-3 Years appropriate previous experience in a role of similar nature would be advantageous. Sound Clinical knowledge regarding cancer terminology and report handling is a must. Data capturing ability must be proven.

Pay: R14000,00 - R16000,00 per month
