Mechanical Service Technician
Job Description
Job Summary :
Matric (Grade 12)
Minimum 4-6 years of mechanical experience, preferably in trailers, caravans, or related vehicles
Knowledge of wheel bearings, brakes, axles, couplings, and suspensions
Strong understanding of workshop tools and safety procedures
Practical and physically fit - the work is hands-on
Reliable, self-motivated, and takes pride in quality workmanship
Experience in caravan or trailer manufacturing or servicing
Exposure to basic electrical, water, or gas systems (optional)
:
Service and inspect caravan chassis, suspension, and axle components
Repack and adjust wheel bearings and brakes
Check and service the coupling head, jockey wheel, and corner steadies
Inspect tyres, including the spare wheel, for wear and pressure
Identify and report any mechanical defects needing repair or replacement
