Our client is seeking mechanical projects engineer to join their team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga.

Job specification:

The Mechanical Projects Engineer is responsible to conceptualise and/or implement maintenance improvement, new equipment, equipment upgrade and equipment refurbishment projects. To implement and control change process for the maximum benefit of the client.

Main role of the job is to conduct Feasibility Studies and make recommendations, implement approved projects: Engineer, Cost, Procure, Manage and Implement Capital Projects relating to a wide range of technologies and applications utilizing suitable companies with a focus on civil, structural and mechanical disciplines and Project Management of complete projects.

Feasibility studies:

Define the problem, identify possible solutions, analyze the technology, evaluate the options and make recommendations including return on investment calculations.

Project Implementation:

• Project and scope specification/clarification.
• Compile Enquiries, conduct Site visits and adjudicate Bids.
• Clarification meetings.
• Place orders and compile contracts.
• Project Implementation and Contract Management, i.e. Cost, Time and Quality control.
• Legal Compliance
• Commissioning and performance testing
• Documentation and close out

• Minimum qualification of S4/T3 in Mechanical Engineering, with 5 years of relevant experience in the metals manufacturing industry (furnaces, hot and cold rolling and other heavy engineering industries) with at least two years involvement in implementing projects.
• The ideal candidate will hold a B Eng, B Tech/T4, in Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years of experience in the metals manufacturing / consulting industry or conducting feasibilities/implementing capital projects.
• MDP with more than 2 years in management/Project management roll will be advantages
• Computer literate
• Must have the ability to work under pressure and meet work deadlines with attention to detail.
