Job Summary Mechanical Engineer - FMCG
We are seeking a skilled and driven Mechanical Engineer to join our fast-paced FMCG operation. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a passion for driving efficiency within high-volume manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance, repair, and optimisation of mechanical equipment and production lines
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety
• Support new equipment installations, commissioning, and plant upgrades
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance schedules to minimise downtime
• Conduct root cause analysis of mechanical failures and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with production, quality, and safety teams to ensure operational excellence
• Manage spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers to ensure timely procurement
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or related qualification)
• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in mechanical engineering within the FMCG or manufacturing sector
• Strong knowledge of high-speed production machinery, conveyors, and automated systems
• Proficiency in CAD software and maintenance management systems (e.g. SAP, Pragma)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong leadership and communication abilities with a collaborative approach
• Willingness to work shifts or be on standby as required
