Job Description
An exciting opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineer (Fire Services) with strong fire compliance and building services experience in Cape Town
Requirements :
- BTech or BEng in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical building services.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in fire safety system design.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to take on challenging projects.
- Either professionally registered with ECSA or keen to pursue registration.
- Develop fire safety and fire compliance designs for building projects.
- Design firefighting equipment, smoke evacuation systems, stair pressurisation, and sprinkler systems.
- Apply SANS deemed-to-satisfy and rational design principles.
- Engage in thermal modelling (advantageous but not required).
- Independently manage small to medium-scale projects, or work as part of the fire design management team on larger projects.
- Professionally represent the company in client and site meetings, and during building surveys.
- Assist in the preparation of tender documentation and general project administration.
- Salary: negotiable.
