Mechanical Designer
Job Description
Our client is a leader in new, ground breaking chemical technology in the world market and offers a Instrumentation Technician an opportunity to become part of their team.
As a Mechanical Designer, you will collaborate closely with process engineers to conceptualise and design complex process plant systems using 3D CAD software. This includes compressors, vessels, tubing, piping, and instrumentation. Your role demands creativity, as you must balance process requirements, costs, manufacturing specifications, and maintenance considerations throughout the design phase. Your ultimate goal is to produce a comprehensive Bill of Materials for handover to the procurement department.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed 3D models using SolidWorks
- Generate precise 2D manufacturing drawings
- Develop accurate Bill of Materials
- Provide support to the construction team, addressing queries and implementing changes during construction
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (both 3D and 2D)
- Familiarity with generating Bill of Materials
- Access to own transportation for travel between sites/offices in the Pretoria area
- Proficient in MS Office suite
