Mechanical Design Engineer, Kempton Park , Job- Job-3824 A leading comminution, separation, and screening technology provider that focuses on end-product requirements, that provides concept, to design, through to end of plan, that partners with global leading brands is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with a Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar technical qualification) with a minimum of 4 years Engineering Experience in a similar environment Position details: Type: Permanent Reports to: Process Engineering Manager Primary Purpose: Product and Process Development, Test Work, Product Realisation, Product Support and System Optimisation, Engineering Management Qualifications and min requirements:

  • Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar technical qualification)
  • Minimum of 4 years Engineering Experience in a similar environment
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Process and Materials Handling design experience required
  • Structural design experience advantageous
  • Knowledge and experience with CAD
  • FEA Analysis experience advantageous
  • Basic software development skills preferable
  • Excellent technical knowledge
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas
  • Work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Out of the box thinker

  • Ability to prototype quickly

Job description / core competencies: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: a) Product and Process Development - Promote the development of our technologies and increase the general knowledge level within the company - Develop creative ways to streamline company processes and increase internal efficiency - Continually develop and improve support models for customer support and service center - New technology and product development - Work with the PR, marketing, and sales departments to establish a go-to-market strategy b) Test work: - Conduct test work and determine the suitability of available equipment to the clientxe2x80x99s requirements - Produce technical reports and specifications in connection with any test work performed - Assist the customer in understanding the demands of the material and the implications of machine selection on upstream and downstream processes c) Product Realisation: - Create product definitions tailored according to clientsxe2x80x99 needs - Create and register items and bills of materials in the relevant information system to allow for the procurement of machines/spares/equipment - Commission new equipment to meet xe2x80x9cthe Companyxe2x80x99sxe2x80x9d and the clients operating requirements - Assist in ensuring that any manufactured components are manufactured to the highest levels, by means of accurate drawings, technical descriptions, quality requirement lists etc. as well as interaction with the supplier and relevant procurement representative d) Product Support and System Optimisation - Liaise with customers through the relevant customer support consultant to develop an understanding of the customersxe2x80x99 needs - Conduct investigations into equipment failures and any customer operational concerns - Conduct system audits of customer sites to determine system efficiency and assist in plant optimisation - Produce technical reports detailing any failure investigations as well as audits/optimisation exercises. e) Engineering Management - Manage engineering processes (ECPxe2x80x99s, drawing requests, QIRxe2x80x99s etc.) - Administer the engineering system (Network data, machine register, manuals, IPCxe2x80x99s etc.) - Assist in ensuring component drawings and QRLs are accurate and drawn to Company requirements Company Description: Mining Tech specialist that provide a range of high quality, innovative and reliable crushing, separating and screening solutions, to the engineering and mining industry Job Type: Permanent Salary: R40,000.00 - R50,000.00 per month Application Deadline: 2023/11/15
