Odie's Meats is a company based just outside of Greytown that produces quality, processed meats such as russians, polony and wors. We are looking for a skilled and experienced

Production Manager

to lead our factory operations. This role requires strong

leadership

skills, and the ability to manage staff and inventory while maintaining the highest quality and food safety standards. One needs to be

hardworking, trustworthy

, and have some sort of experience

managing

staff.

A more detailed list of responsibilities:

Oversee daily production operations and staff performance. Ensure the meeting of daily production targets and quality standards. Ensure efficient workflow and high-quality production. Maintain, manage and enforce good hygiene practices and housekeeping of all, ensuring compliance with all regulations. Monitor stock levels, place orders and maintain inventory (ensure that there are no raw material shortages.). Manage production schedules. Monitor product quality and conduct regular quality checks on products and equipment maintenance. Maintain accurate production records. Ensure proper packaging and labeling of meat products. Communicate and deal with staff in a professional manner. Take all measures possible to prevent stock losses and/or theft of company property. Ensure the correct orders are loaded into the trucks. Ensure good housekeeping practices in the chillers, freezers and cold-rooms and monitor stock rotation. Manage and evaluate machines and equipment to ensure productivity and minimal downtime. Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across all product lines. Communicate any problems or obstacles to top management.
Some experience in the meat industry and speaking isiZulu is a huge bonus.

This position is from Mon- Fri 06:00am-17:00pm and the odd Saturday may be needed.

A company vehicle is included.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R18000,00 - R20000,00 per month
