About the Role:

The

M&E Technician

is responsible for operating assigned equipment and plant areas, executing daily operations activities in line with the

Master Task List (MTL)

, and contributing to plant performance goals. The technician will apply sound operations knowledge to ensure the plant runs safely, efficiently, and optimally, while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Science (Compulsory) 2 years of relevant plant operational experience Proven competence in key plant areas, as per Safripol operational standards Solid understanding of plant processes and safe operating procedures Strong attention to detail, accountability, and ability to work independently or in a team Willingness to work shifts and respond during crisis or plant emergencies

Duties & Responsibilities

Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and efficient operations Operate and field-check process equipment while monitoring plant conditions, control systems, and parameters Perform scheduled operations tasks per the Master Task List (e.g. equipment prep, field checks, sampling, etc.) Ensure operational activities support plant performance goals and business targets Troubleshoot and resolve process-related deviations using root cause thinking Participate in and initiate Root Cause Investigations as required Coach and mentor other operators in plant operations best practices Support Crisis Response activities as directed by the Crisis Response Leader Apply process knowledge and experience to improve plant performance and discipline compliance Collect, monitor, and input plant performance metrics (e.g. asset utilization, yields, cost) to support optimization * Perform basic process equipment troubleshooting, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and improvements using proper tools and processes
