Responsible for: MHE (Materials Handling Equipment)
Position Overview
The MHE (Material Handling Equipment) Administrator is responsible for the strategic coordination, monitoring, and management of all material handling equipment within the assigned Distribution Centre, ensuring optimal equipment utilization, maintenance, and distribution across the network.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Coordination & Management
Coordinate and manage hyper cages, rolltainers, and pallet collars within the DC
Monitor MHE distribution and allocation across multiple locations
Maintain accurate inventory records of all MHE assets
Ensure optimal equipment rotation and utilization
Technology & Monitoring Systems
Utilize Traxsense system for real-time MHE distribution monitoring
Conduct regular checks on offline readers and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Generate reports on equipment usage, location, and performance metrics
Maintain GPS tracking systems for rolltainers and other tagged equipment
Third-Party Logistics Coordination
Liaise with 3PL transporters to coordinate MHE collection and distribution
Plan and schedule equipment transfers based on DC requirements
Ensure compliance with transportation and handling protocols
Monitor service level agreements with logistics partners
Asset Management & Maintenance
Manage damaged MHE identification, assessment, and repair coordination
Coordinate with maintenance vendors and internal teams for equipment repairs
Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
Oversee disposal of irreparable equipment following company procedures
Rental Equipment Management
Manage rental MHE contracts and agreements
Monitor rental periods and coordinate returns to avoid penalties
Evaluate rental vs. purchase decisions based on utilization data
Maintain accurate records of rental equipment locations and usage
Required Qualifications
Education
Grade 12 with relevant logistics/warehousing experience
Experience (Optional, but preferred)
3+ years experience in warehouse/distribution centre operations
2+ years experience with material handling equipment management
Experience with inventory management systems and tracking technology
Previous exposure to 3PL coordination preferred
Essential Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Traxsense or similar tracking systems
Strong MS Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
Understanding of GPS tracking and RFID technology
Basic knowledge of material handling equipment types and maintenance

3PL coordination efficiency (on-time collection/delivery >95%)
System uptime for offline readers (target: >98%)
Working Conditions
Office and warehouse environment
Standard business hours with occasional extended hours during peak periods
Travel may be required to other DC locations for equipment coordination
On-call availability for critical equipment issues
