We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Materials Controller to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies to ensure uninterrupted project and operational support. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, enforcing stock control measures, and coordinating with procurement and operations teams.
Responsibilities
Oversee material receiving, issuing, and storing processes.
Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock takes.
Liaise with procurement to ensure material availability.
Inspect incoming materials for quality and quantity compliance.
Ensure materials are stored safely and in accordance with company standards.
Maintain filing systems for delivery notes, purchase orders, and related documentation.
Generate inventory and usage reports as required.
Liaise with Mine Underground Logistics department for release and transport of goods to work area
Qualifications/ Requirements
Matric (Grade 12) with a relevant qualification in logistics, supply chain, or stock control (advantageous).
2-3 years' experience in a materials or stock control role, preferably in the [mining/construction/manufacturing] industry.
Knowledge of stock control systems and ERP software.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication and coordination abilities.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
