Job Summary Position Purpose: The main objective of the Marketing Manager is to provide marketing management and support to the company, and from time to time the affiliated group of companies. Marketing strategy and activity for the business will become paramount to the continued success of the business. Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities The Marketing Manager will play a key role in the development, implementation and management of these marketing strategies and initiatives: Marketing strategy and execution Work closely with the General Manager and the Head of Strategy on the appointment of a marketing agency. Work closely with the GM and HoS for the appointed marketing agency on a re-brand and or brand refresh for the business. Work closely with the GM and HoS, and the marketing agency in the development and implementation of new brands including retail and other value-added brands both domestically and internationally. Continued development of the brand architecture, strategy and brand positioning for the business. Create and manage the style guides for all brands and ensure adherence of all parties to the guides. Creative, Media and Advertising Either directly or working with external marketing or creative agencies develop all creative and advertising material and copy for the business and any developed brands. Work closely with the GM to develop a media plan. Negotiate, book and ensure the accurate execution of the media plan with the relevant media outlets. Packaging Design Either directly and or working with the Manager and external marketing or creative agencies develop all creative and packaging designs for private label or inhouse retail brands that are developed. Public Relations Appoint a Public Relations agency. Manage the ongoing relationship with the Public Relations agency. Identify public relations opportunities and develop a regular public relations program for the business and build relationships with a range of industry and consumer publications and journalists to drive effective public relations coverage. Manage the relationship of any brand ambassadors or brand influencers. Monitor all PR coverage generated, collect clippings and report to the executive team, sales team and grower liaison team Websites Manage the rebrand of the existing website once the new or refreshed brand has been approved. Upgrade the website with new pages and content. Manage the ongoing evolution of the website over time: Continually updating content as the business develops including updating for new or departing staff members. Curating industry news and posting to the website. Managing and updating regular blogs on the websites. Field, respond to and / or redirect any inquiries to the website including customer enquiries. As new retail and value-added brands are added to the stable, work with the GM and marketing agency in the development of new websites as appropriate, including e-commerce focused websites Customer Research and Surveys Carry out new and existing customer research on behalf of the sales team and conduct periodic customer surveys to assess customer satisfaction, wants and needs and provide feedback. Marketing Collateral Work either directly or with the relevant agencies to design, develop and manage a suit of marketing collateral for the business including videos, brochures, catalogues, fliers, banners, promotional merchandise, sampling packs, information packs, welcome packs, training material, packaging, etc. Manage the cost-effective procurement, production, and distribution of this collateral to the relevant parts of the business. Manage stocks of all collateral to ensure availability. Manage the effective usage of all collateral by the sales team to maximise return on investment Events As the retail and valued added offering and distribution develops for the business, design and develop a suit of trade show collateral and tools and assist the GM and sales team in the organising, setting up and managing of all trade shows both domestically and internationally. Manage a calendar of relevant industry conferences and events and work closely with the GM and other relevant staff to ensure have a presence at these events and the appropriate representatives attend each event. When appropriate attend the industry events as a company representative. Work closely with the GM and sales team to develop a calendar of customer awareness, promotional, education and entertainment events and then manage these events. Direct Marketing and Social Media Directly design and develop all hard copy and electronic direct marketing material (e.g. mailers, postcards, eDMs, invitations etc). Working closely with the GM and sales team to generate the mailing lists and manage the distribution of this direct marketing material. In the case of eDM marketing closely monitor open and click rates of the mailing and report back on the effectiveness of the mailing. Monitor all email bounce backs and unsubscribes and ensure that the mailing database is kept as clean and accurate as possible and that all privacy and spam requirements are met. Develop, implement, and manage a social media strategy, initially via LinkedIn but later as retail and consumer brands are rolled out also on Facebook, Instagram, and other relevant social media platforms. Customer Touch Program and Newsletter Work closely with the GM and sales team to develop and manage a regular customer touch program. Work closely with the GM on the development (or refreshment of existing) newsletters and manage the distribution data base and distribution of these newsletters. Manage the collection of the relevant material and content for each edition of the newsletters and then edit and collate. Financial Each financial year work with the executive team to develop a marketing budget. Monitor and control all marketing expenditure within this budget. Where appropriate reallocate budgets to maximise marketing effectiveness. Approve all marketing related costs and expenditure. Authorities Order marketing collateral, materials, and services. Book media Approve marketing related invoices. Qualifications and experience: Tertiary Qualification: Degree or Diploma in Marketing Demonstrated experience in marketing management including: Brand development. Basic graphic design capability in Illustrator and or InDesign and or Canva. Marketing collateral development. Website management and maintenance. Event management. Direct marketing and social media. Public relations and corporate communications. A minimum of 5 years related experience Strong Organisational abilities High level of attention to detail Competence in Microsoft Office Suite and particularly in Word and PowerPoint. Attention to detail and results driven, ability to interpret and implement policies, processes and objectives Effective written and verbal communication skills Salary - Market related
