CNC Setter & Operator

experience who is looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a high-tech, fast-paced manufacturing environment and is a hands-on, detail-oriented individual who wants to join our

Machine Shop

team.


As a CNC Setter & Operator, you'll be responsible for setting and operating a range of CNC and conventional machines to perform precise and complex machining operations. You'll play a key role in maintaining quality, optimising processes, and supporting team efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

:

Fitter & Turner Red Seal or relevant qualifications Minimum of 3 - 5 Years Conventional turning and milling Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience Proficient in operating conventional machines (Lathe, Milling, and Router) Must be competent in working with running and fixed steadies and 4 jaw chuck. Experience in setting CNC machines with multiple axes (such as CNC Lathe, 3-axis and 4-axis Milling machines) Comfortable operating various machines within the machine shop Ability to alter existing programs using shorthand programming Knowledge of Fanuc control panels is essential Able to work independently and unsupervised Reliable, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and handle high workloads

Key Responsibilities

:

Set up and operate CNC machinery to perform precision machining operations Independently operating conventional machines (Lathe, Milling, and Router) Machining of diameters up to 1 meter and lengths of up to 4 meters. Collaborate with programmers to optimise machining processes (jigs, fixtures, tools, methods, speeds & feeds) Support problem-solving within the shop to enhance efficiency Identify and resolve machining issues, including tool wear, programming or setup errors, and machine faults Provide training and technical support to fellow setters, operators, and apprentices Keep up to date with advancements in CNC technologies and machining practices Promote and drive 6S principles and ensure compliance with Molenaar's standards

Must be willing to work shifts (2-shift and/or 3-shift systems) Must be willing to work overtime
