Job Summary
Our client is seeking a visionary leader for the position of Managing Director on a 5-Year Fixed Term, Performance-Based Contract. This challenging role is based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, and applications are accepted until Friday, 8 December 2023.
Role Overview: As the Managing Director, you will be tasked with driving the provision of sustainable integrated waste management services to the citizens of the City of Johannesburg. Your primary responsibilities include developing business plans, corporate strategy, and ensuring world-class waste services aligning with the City's Growth and Development Strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively shaping the organization's future through vision and strategic direction.
- Cultivating an ethos of excellence and continuous improvement in customer service.
- Ensuring a strong culture of governance, compliance, financial, and operational sustainability.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Post Graduate qualification in Business, Economics, Engineering, or Finance.
- MBA/MBL qualification (advantageous).
- 10 years at Executive Level.
- 5 years in waste and/or logistics management.
- Experience in State/Municipal Owned Enterprise or similar governance-focused environments.
- Knowledge of MFMA/PFMA and King III report on corporate governance.
- Advanced understanding of policy, legislation, governance systems, audit, risk, and finance management.
