The role is responsible for leading and managing all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient order fulfilment, accurate inventory management, fast turnaround times, and seamless return processing while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
Duties
Plan, organize, and manage the overall warehouse operations.
Manage warehouse staff including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management.
Directing a warehouse team in daily workflow and logistics processes.
Controlling and monitoring high value inventory, ensuring timeous picking, checking and packing of orders into dispatch to meet client SLA and scheduling requirements.
Organising freight schedules and developing matrixes for the intake and offtake of inventory.
Management of inventory control to monitor warehouse storage and stock shrinkage. Maintain stock audits of the warehouse continuously.
Control budgets and manage cost-efficiency measures.
Drive continuous improvement and lean practices in warehouse layout, flow, and processes to increase efficiency.
Support scalability during peak periods (e.g., sales, new collection launches, Black Friday, etc.).
Policy and procedure management in respect of people management. Ensure compliance relating to LRA, Health and Safety and other required legislative controls. Maintain discipline in a work environment.
Customer Relations Management - maintaining quality customer service. Addressing all customer complaints timeously.
Monitor operational processes to provide accurate reports. Constant evaluation and implementation of process improvements.
Maintain excellent administration management to provide accurate record keeping and reporting when required.
Monitor and report on KPIs: pick accuracy, order lead time, stock discrepancies, return cycle times, etc.
Entrench excellent housekeeping practices to ensure an orderly, clean and efficient work environment.
Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Maintain the leadership role of the warehouse in respect of planning, supervising, machinery
Skills and Experience
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
Certification in Warehouse Management or related fields (Advantageous)
Experience with ERP or WMS software (Advantageous)
Pharmaceutical & Fashion knowledge (Advantageous)
10 years' experience in Logistics (Essential)
5 years experience in warehousing/ Inventory management (Essential)
2 years in supervisory/ management role (Essential)
Must have own transport and be able to travel between sites
Must be able to work long hours
Must have a clean criminal record

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
