To lead and manage the operational and corporate finance functions of the PPS Mutual Benefit Fund, an Australian-based life insurance entity supported by PPS Insurance in South Africa. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting and forecasting, and seamless execution of key finance processes--all conducted in Australian dollars.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Chartered Accountant (South Africa) - CA(SA) designation
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years' post-articles experience
Prior experience in the financial services industry (preffered)
Solid background in financial and operational finance functions
Proven experience in designing, improving, and implementing business processes
Knowledge and Skill:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems effectively
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Skilled in influencing and persuading stakeholders to drive alignment and action
Strong and current knowledge of Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Ability to identify automation opportunities, supported by a solid understanding of operational system functionality
Consistently meets deadlines and delivers high-quality outputs under pressure
Exceptionally organised and detail-oriented, with a methodical approach to managing complex financial operations
Deep understanding of financial systems, insurance processes, and reinsurance structures

Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver monthly financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for PPS Mutual
Collaborate with PPS Insurance's corporate finance team for precise fund-related accounting and regulatory compliance
Manage billing, collections, claims processing, reinsurance, and commission management
Partner with IT to identify, plan, and implement automation and process improvements
Scale operations, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency to improve stakeholder value
Ensure timely completion of monthly financial tasks and validate complex calculations
Support strategic planning through accurate budgeting and forecasting activities
Set KPIs, provide coaching, and foster a high-performance culture through feedback and mentoring
Review and enhance finance-related policies, standards, and process documentation for governance
* Collaborate across divisions and represent Finance in discussions, offering practical solutions
