Job Description

To manage the provision of as effective and efficient sustainable security service with special emphasis on Land Invasion.
Key Responsibility Areas

  • Responsible for controlling and preventing unlawful occupation of Council owned land/property.
  • Identifies with the Land Invasion sections strategy with respect to service delivery and defines, implements and monitors the short term plans/objectives.
  • Directs and controls the key performance Indicators and outcomes of personnel within the Land Invasion Section.
  • Manages the implementation of financial controls/procedures and provides information to support financial planning sequences.
  • Responsible for co-ordinating and controlling key dimensions and requirements associated with the provision of a security service.
  • Establishing and maintaining procedures and programmes to provide existing informal settlements with basic services such as water, electricity, basic sanitation and access to roads wherever possible.
  • Disseminates information on outcomes, current developments, problems and constraints and presents educational material on public safety.
  • Co-ordinates specific administrative and reporting requirements associated with the key performance and result indicators of the functionality.

Essential Requirements
  • Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Security Management or Policing or any other related and equivalent qualification.
  • Valid PSIRA Grade A certificate.
  • Valid firearm competency certificate (handgun, short gun and rifle).
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • 4 years relevant experience of which 2 years must be at a supervisory level within the Police or a recognised Security or Law Enforcement environment
Preferred Requirements
  • Degree (NQF Level 7) in Security Management or Policing or any other related and equivalent qualification
  • 5 years relevant experience of which 3 years must be at a supervisory level within the Police or a recognised Security or Law Enforcement environment
