Grade 12
2 - 3 years' experience / training in foods retail and management of resources.
Experience managing fresh foods in a supermarket, cafe, eatery environment
Strong leadership and communication skills

Customer Journey:

Ensuring customer service standards are rigorously applied

Ensure that VM standards are adhered to and execution of all plans and promotions.
People Management: (Assist Store Manager with functions)
Manage all people related aspects on an ongoing bases for staff.
Able to deal with employee shortcomings if/when needed.
Assist with recruitment on a store level according to company policy and procedures.
Assist with Identify training and Development initiatives for employees.
Assist with performance management - focus on talent management and succession planning.
Able to lead and manage a team of employees.

Daily Operations/Stock Management/Risk Management:
Opening and locking of store in accordance with the company security procedures
Conducting start & end of day reporting and procedures
Conducting administration (staff scheduling & leave, invoices, pricing, costs, floats & banking, expense control, reconciliations, CDC and head office instructions etc) per company standards and procedures
Ensuring merchandise is offloaded, captured, packed, merchandised & displayed per company policy
Monitoring quality and controlling soilage of merchandise and taking appropriate action
Controlling shrinkage
Ensure that OHS standards are adhered to at all times
Sales/Promotions:
Promoting sales to achieve budgets and monitoring sales, turnover and participation.
Conducting promotions
Implementation of markdowns and RTC's
Complete and cascade the mule train with top team
Review Previous Day
Review and action handover list from previous day
On Shelf Availability
Review Gap scan for on shelf confirmation and close investigation
Trade and Customer
Ensure the fresh food department is prepped and production plans are ready
On Shelf Availability
Place fresh food and expense orders for direct store delivery & DC requests
Cold Chain
Quality check and manage the Cold Chain
Lead Mule Train: Follow upon on mule train actions
Trade and Customer: Ongoing review and checks of the Fresh offering especially service areas
Lead Mule Train: Ensure all mule train actions are completed and do shift handover
Huddle: Attend Huddle and cascade key messages to staff
Manage Staff: Manage external merchandisers
Prepare Kronos scheduling changes for the store manager sign off
Training: Manage staff completion of training
Manage Staff: Manage and engage with staff, escalating as appropriate
Review Previous Day: Check previous day performance, all fresh department KPIs and deviations
KPI Review: Investigate over budget on shortage and departmental purchases vs sales
Optimise Inventory: Execute GIC actions for Fresh Department
Follow up on previous day RTC and sell through. Prep for RTC reductions
Review movements postings (Gap scan, IDT, BMC, Shop use, scheduled counts)
Conduct daily waste management
