The Role
As our Brand Manager: Corporate Social Investment, you'll be at the helm of a global CSI strategy that's both community-led and business-aligned. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you'll design and execute initiatives that improve lives, strengthen communities, and reflect Mukuru's commitment to responsible and inclusive growth.
You'll work across multiple countries, partnering with internal teams and external stakeholders (NGOs, government bodies, community leaders) to ensure our CSI programs are impactful, scalable, and fully compliant with local legislation.
What You'll Be Doing
Strategic CSI Leadership
Co-develop and continuously refine a global CSI strategy aligned with Mukuru's purpose and each corridor's local legislation.
Design programs with long-term impact, sustainability, and innovation at their core.
Evaluate and mitigate risk across diverse social investment initiatives.
Program Planning & Execution
Develop unified CSI guidelines across all corridors to ensure consistency and scalability.
Implement agile project management principles to drive execution efficiency.
Monitor costs and resource allocation to maximise social return on investment.
Stakeholder Engagement
Champion CSI initiatives internally to promote buy-in and cross-functional ownership.
Engage employees meaningfully in CSI efforts, embedding a culture of giving back.
Build and maintain relationships with NGOs, government partners, and external collaborators to amplify impact.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
Develop KPIs to measure social impact and program success.
Lead data collection and impact reporting in partnership with Business Intelligence.
Ensure full transparency through regular internal and external reporting.
Self & Team Development
Stay abreast of global trends in social investment and sustainable development.
Continuously grow your knowledge in legislation, impact measurement, and strategic philanthropy.
Share insights with internal teams to elevate social impact across all Mukuru corridors.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Education
Bachelor's degree or Advanced Diploma in Business Development, Social Sciences, Sustainability, or related field (Essential)
Experience
5+ years in corporate social investment, community development, or related field
Experience managing programs in a multi-national context (Africa + EU preferred)
5+ years' experience in project management and stakeholder engagement
Skills & Knowledge
In-depth understanding of CSI legislation across multiple jurisdictions
Ability to align CSI initiatives with business goals and local needs
Proficiency in impact measurement, project management, and reporting
Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
Comfortable working in cross-functional and culturally diverse teams
