PURPOSE STATEMENT
To develop, implement and manage the strategy of SABS Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing of Standards portfolio to achieve divisional and organizational objectives. To drive the revenue growth plans for the SABS publishing business through amongst others content licensing, royalty revenues, distribution agreements, E-commerce and product innovation.

Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management
Contribute towards the development of a strategy for the Division and ensure alignment of this strategy with the business plan for the Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing business unit overall.
Ensure productivity is measured effectively against set objectives.
Manage and ensure the drive of continuous improvement activities.
Manage the business unit and ensure that it contributes to the achievement of business objectives
Maximise the content solutions, publishing and licensing revenue opportunities through effective IP and copyright management
Proactive new business development related to content solutions, publishing and licencing of standards
Manage and review all licencing agreements and contract related to exploitation of IP, and liaise with the SABS legal department where appropriate
Manage operations effectively to deliver services within timelines and prescribed quality through effective resource management
Use insights gained through business information to compile reports, and metrics to measure success and inform the business decisions within area of responsibility
Put measures into place to improve productivity.
Functional Management
Manage the provision of Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing to support the delivery of quality content to the market,
Drive the execution of Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing standards through e-commerce and related platforms
Develop and implement a Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing
Develop and implement quality control measures for all Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing procedures and policies.
Ensure that Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing policies and procedures are constantly reviewed and revised to remain appropriate to current risk exposure.
Develop Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing practices by conducting awareness sessions with staff across SABS.
Proactively engage on market opportunities for diversifying the distribution and access of Standards
Manage compliance, ensuring that all SABS employees, adhere to all SABS Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing policy, protocols and procedures.
Advise and oversee all Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing related change programs.
Provide strategic feedback on the status of Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing within SABS.
Risk and Compliance Management
Proactively manage the risk related to content exploitation agreements, IP and copyright matters.
Ensure the mitigation of the business unit's risk profile through the identification and application of fraud controls and risk prevention principles and implementing of sound governance and compliance processes and tools to identify and manage risks.
Responsible for the coordination and maintenance of quality risk management in line with ISO and regulatory requirements.
Monitor changes in the regulatory environment and ensure that appropriate operational controls are implemented to address new requirements.
Drive the implementation of compliance with policies aimed at strengthening the SABS brand and stakeholder interface.
Support and provide evidence to all internal and external audit, Accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Oversee the maintenance and enforcement of Service Level Agreements to minimise business risk and ensure business continuity.
Ensure adherence in the team to all relevant laws, policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
Financial Management
Provide input in the planning and compilation of the annual budget aligned to the tactical delivery plans to support the implementation of set objectives.
Ensure the effective implementation, management, monitoring of the budget, and mitigate and report on any variances.
Ensure the deployment of proper financial controls to manage the budget.
Effectively manage the departmental team to drive and achieve revenue targets
Ensure implementation of effective controls of financial transactions
Review, manage and implement the departmental pricing policy, strategy and models.
People Management
Proactively manage all direct reports in order to ensure that the strategic objectives for the division is met.
Maintain excellent human capital performance through employee empowerment, skills development and retention and succession planning within the team.
Maintain an environment where employees respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all processes, procedures and practices.
Manage and lead Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing by providing clarity of vision; prioritising resources; facilitating alignment of the team; managing non-performance, driving a customer-centric performance culture, setting appropriate KPA's and ensure the cascading thereof throughout Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing and driving their achievement; inspiring commitment; encouraging mutual support; and enabling development opportunities
Implement a learning culture within scope of control.
Drive performance management in line with the SABS policy within the team, and address performance challenges and develop subordinates to meet the expected performance standards.
Be the change champion for all Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing-wide change, culture and diversity projects and programmes
Recruit and retain key talent and other critically skilled personnel to manage internal processes and oversee the tactical, daily analytical work of the team.
Stakeholder Management
Identify and mitigate systems and procedural barriers to enhance excellent customer service.
Effective engagement with ISO, IEC and other regional and national standards bodies to drive state of the art and best practices on content solutions, publishing, and licensing
Build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships for the purpose of expectations management, knowledge sharing and integration, and to manage the organisation's reputation.
Represent and participate in the organisation's committees and task teams when required.
Convene, chair and attend meetings and present performance and business-related information to relevant stakeholders when required.
Manage and resolve enquiries and operational complaints through timeous resolution and/or escalation as required
Provide technical support and advocacy on Content Solutions, Publishing and Licensing related matters to the organisation
