Job Purpose
The Manager Cargo Revenue Accounting is responsible for the monitoring and processing of Cargo Traffic documents in a complete, accurate and timeous manner and ensuring situations that can cause revenue leakage are managed adequately with all resources that are readily available or being enhanced.
The role is also required to provide an oversight on the management of changes to the iCargo system CRA module as regulated by IATA and address risks associated with these changes.
Principal Accountabilities

• Implement and standardise policies, processes and systems to support implementation of the strategy and automate the function
• Provide input to the design of policies, processes and systems to support implementation of the strategy within Revenue Accounting
• Manage and control budget in Revenue Accounting and contribute to Financial Management budget management
• Contribute to the identification of strategic initiatives and action plans for Revenue accounting
• Actively track progress against action plans and flag any risks that may impact progress
• Identify initiatives in alignment with business requirements and strategic objectives and plan budget specifically linked to Finance
• Identify and prevent losses in proration - Interline exceptions resolution
• Manage and optimise resources in Revenue Accounting
• Optimise technology to enhance internal and external customer expectations
• Manage and maintain processes to deliver customer value
• Drive customer centricity within Revenue Accounting
• Manage effective internal and external stakeholder relationships through appropriate relationship building and networking
• Manage the implementation of Governance and Risk Management policies, control, processes and systems
• Maintain and monitor regular and timeous reporting of information to key stakeholders
• Manages projects to contribute to the optimisation of Finance
• Conduct benchmarking against other iCargo Airlines community in relation to revenue accounting processing productivity and quality
• Identify stakeholders and provide advice and interpretation to relevant stakeholders
• Incorporate reporting information into decision making processes to ensure alignment of the methodologies, policies, processes and tools to the requirements of the business
• Complete Revenue Accounting regular reports as required
• Ensure that appropriate governance systems are in place for area of responsibility and in line with future requirements, i.e. policies, procedures and reporting structures
• Review policies and procedures and update as necessary to ensure required standards are maintained
• Ensure regular audits are conducted across Cargo GSSA's to measure compliance with policies, procedures and contracts
• Assess the impact of business decisions on the workforce within the organisation and provide solutions to optimise opportunities and mitigate downsides in collaboration with professionals
• Ensure complete, accurate and valid accounting for Cargo and to detect and recover/stop revenue losses
• Optimise the Revenue Accounting capability to enable achievement of objectives
• Drives and supports people development initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

• A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance at NQF level 7 with at least 5 - 7 years' functional experience in an airline revenue accounting finance environment of which 3 years' is at management level and/or Matric with relevant aviation/functional occupational qualifications with at least 7 - 10 years' functional experience in an airline revenue accounting environment of which 5 years' is at management level
• Relevant IATA Diploma will be an advantage
• Experience in Cargo Revenue Accounting is essential
