Meals: Self-catered Role Overview An exciting opportunity exists for a hands-on Lodge Manager or Management Couple to join a privately owned, self-catered lodge estate situated directly on the banks of the Lower Zambezi River. The property offers a tranquil, scenic, and authentic Zambezi experience with a small, close-knit team and actively involved owners. This is not a high-end resort environment, but rather a boutique; owner-run operation requiring practical, resourceful, and guest-focused individuals with excellent all-round operational knowledge. Candidates with prior experience in Zambia; Zimbabwe, or the Lower Zambezi region will be highly regarded. Key Requirements o Proven lodge or hospitality management experience (minimum 3-5 years). o Strong all-round operational understanding - guest relations, maintenance, housekeeping, and basic F&B coordination. o Ability to manage small teams, local suppliers, and contractors. o Hands-on approach - willing to get involved in all aspects of day-to-day lodge life. o Solid financial and administrative competence, including stock control and basic reporting. o Experience in riverine or remote lodge environments preferred. o Mature, calm, and adaptable personality with problem-solving abilities. o Previous experience in Zambia/Zimbabwe or similar regions essential . o Valid passport and driver's licence required. Must have a relevant tertiary qualification for visa purposes (if required). Responsibilities o Oversee smooth daily lodge operations, maintenance, and guest satisfaction. o Manage staff rosters, local procurement, and supplier relationships. o Coordinate guest check-ins, activity arrangements, and transfers. o Maintain the property's standards of cleanliness, functionality, and presentation. o Liaise regularly with hands-on owners on operational updates, budgets, and improvement ideas. o Implement and monitor health & safety and conservation-minded practices. o Assist with marketing support (reviews, feedback, photos) where needed.
