Job Description

An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Management Accountant/Financial Controller to join a dynamic team in managing a portfolio of operations within the retail sector. This role offers an excellent opportunity to be part of a large, established group with diverse business interests based in the North of Cape Town.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a qualified accountant (diploma or higher).
Proficiency in Sage/Pastel or similar accounting systems (Autoline/Kerridge advantageous).
Strong analytical skills.
Advanced Excel knowledge.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities, as the role involves direct interaction with senior financial management.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, retail-driven environment.
Capable of working under pressure and adhering to strict deadlines, especially during month-end processes.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and enhancement of management accounts.
Assisting with the implementation of finance department controls.
Reviewing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and work in progress.
Monitoring bank allocations.
Overseeing ad-hoc payments.
Preparing VAT submissions from the accounting system.
Identifying and resolving finance-related issues across departments.
Conducting monthly reviews of intercompany balances, including loans.
Liaising with auditors and preparing financial audit documentation.
Performing reconciliations for designated accounts.
Supporting ad-hoc financial projects as required.
