Job Summary

Advanced Cleaning Services is seeking a skilled and reliable

Maintenance Technician / Machinery Repairs Specialist

to join our team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of

cleaning industry machinery, equipment, and facilities

, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and minimal downtime.

Experience within the cleaning industry and hands-on exposure to cleaning machinery repairs will be a strong advantage.

Key ResponsibilitiesRoutine Maintenance

Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on cleaning machinery and related equipment. Conduct routine servicing and repairs on machines, tools, and other equipment as required. Maintain a scheduled maintenance program and accurate maintenance records.

Troubleshooting & Repairs

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults on

cleaning equipment and machinery

using appropriate tools and techniques. Repair or replace defective parts in accordance with safety standards. Respond promptly to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requests.

Machinery & Workshop Duties

Receive cleaning machines and equipment for maintenance and repairs. Evaluate machines through inspection and operational testing. Request spare parts using Job Cards as reference. Monitor open purchase orders and liaise with Warehouse/Procurement to ensure timely delivery of spares. Replace spares, test machines, and ensure full functionality. Clean machines thoroughly before returning them to site. Ensure Job Cards are accurately completed and kept up to date.

Inventory & Warehouse Support

Monitor usage of cables, consumables, and spare parts, completing the required documentation. Ensure company tools are clean, functional, and correctly stored. Assist in keeping the workshop, warehouse, and parking areas clean, safe, and free of foreign objects.

Facility Maintenance

Assist with general building maintenance, including lights, doors, plumbing, and minor repairs. Ensure the facility is safe, clean, and well maintained at all times.

Safety, Compliance & Documentation

Adhere to all safety regulations, procedures, and company policies. Maintain accurate documentation, including serial numbers, service history, and maintenance reports. Provide regular feedback to management on maintenance issues and equipment status.

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (technical qualification advantageous).

Proven experience as a maintenance technician or machinery repair specialist.

Experience working within the cleaning industry is preferred.

Hands-on experience repairing cleaning industry machinery (e.g. scrubbers, vacuums, polishers, industrial cleaning equipment) is highly advantageous.

Strong mechanical knowledge with basic electrical fault-finding ability. Experience with preventive maintenance practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a commercial, industrial, or cleaning services environment. Relevant technical certifications (mechanical, electrical, plumbing - advantageous). Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
