PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To continuously improve asset capability and availability through the implementation of leading edge maintenance practices supported by root-cause failure analysis on high frequency/high cost breakdowns. Supporting the Maintenance Superintendent with continuous improvement of the Pelletizing and Sintering and related plant assets and processes through clearly defined strategies and objectives for maintenance of plant, equipment & facilities as well as shutdowns supported by a responsible approach towards all applicable HSEQ aspects.

Safety, Health, Environment and Quality:

• Manage SHEQ compliance in the plant through effective use of the SHEQ Toolbox
• Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status
• Ensure that maintenance practices and assets comply with all relevant legal and related international and national standards
• Ensure compliance with all relevant requirements of the Construction Regulations
• Perform senior standby duties as required from time to time and ensure that an artisan standby roster is developed and managed

Customer

• Proactively seek ways of improving equipment reliability, planned maintenance and maintenance systems

Business Process

Maintenance Support:

• Initiate task list reviews
• Develop maintenance plans (frequencies, maintainable items)
• Initiate plan review and review maintenance plans

Maintenance Data Analysis:

• Perform Pareto analysis, correlation analysis and report top 5 chronic losses
• Interview production personnel with regard to trips and artisans with regard to repetitive trips

Solve problems and implement solutions:

• Arrange RCFA investigation and facilitate the problem solving session
• Analyse alternative solutions and recommend best solution/s based on:

• HSEC impact
• Cost-risk-benefit analysis on key equipment performance parameters
• Cost benefit to the organisation
• Recommend best solutions to problems through the management process
• Record actions arising from RCFA
• Monitor recurring failures related to implemented RCFAxe2x80x99s (KPI until close out)
• Track Condition Monitoring (CM) results
• Analyse equipment failure history
• Log equipment problems identified for further action
• Monitor and advertise latest maintenance and technology developments
• Develop a list of clear problem statements and business cases for problems requiring RCFA
• Monitor and share company-wide similarities/learning opportunities by using the Intranet sites and SAP history
• Monitor and advertise latest maintenance and technology developments
• Develop, maintain, and monitor adherence to maintenance standards and specifications
• Review standard and safe operating and maintenance procedures

Work Analysis:

• Ensure the latest techniques are being applied with respect to NDT and condition monitoring
• Advise in building reliability and maintainability in the design of new or modified equipment
• Ensure sustained FLAC improvements

Contractor Management:

• Develop detailed scope of work for defined scope jobs

Rotables Management:

• Maintain Scope of Work data base (Specifications, Quality plan, Witness points)

Growth

• Manage continuous improvement through operational excellence
• Apply due diligence in the identification, budgeting, application, implementation and commissioning of capital projects

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• B Degree or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 4 years relevant experience
• Knowledge of SAP system and MS Office
