Join a Global Leader in Minerals Processing Plants on a 12-Month Contract, as a Maintenance Projects Manager.

As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing a diverse range of multiple maintenance Projects for separation equipment and related plant and equipment at mine sites. This 12-month contract position is based in Midrand, offering the perfect blend of office-based coordination and on-site project management (80% Office / 20% Site). You'll have the opportunity to travel to various sites, ensuring that projects are executed seamlessly.

Role Overview:

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Staff Reporting: Site Manager

Number of Projects: R45 - 60 per year

Project Value: R20 000 - R12 Million

Project Duration: 1 Day - 6 months

Key Accountabilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.

• Allocate tasks and necessary resources for project execution.

• Manage and organize project drawings to ensure accurate documentation.

• Lead and coordinate site teams, ranging from 2 to 50 individuals.

• Take charge of project budget management and procurement activities.

• Monitor quality control documents with an external QC inspector.

• Develop project schedules and critical timelines.

• Oversee project progress, tracking milestones, and deliverables.

• Provide guidance and support to on-site teams.

• Generate regular project progress reports and present to stakeholders.

• Implement effective change management when required.

• Evaluate project outcomes and results.

• Facilitate the import and export documentation process.

• Compile comprehensive close-out reports upon project completion.

• Maintain detailed reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.

• Ensure project margins align with sales phase projections.

• Uphold and enhance project delivery timelines as established during the sales phase.

• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing within 5 working days of milestones or completion.

• Efficiently close out projects within 20 working days of the final invoice.

• Maintain meticulous project files for auditing purposes, including essential documents such as client purchase orders and change orders.

Requirements

• Qualified: Fitter, Millwright or Mechanical Engineering Diploma

• xc2xb1 10 years experience in Site Execution / Maintenance / Refurbishment / Commissioning Projects - within the Minerals Processing Industry.

• Working Knowledge / Experienced in:

• Hydraulic installation and commissioning.

• Electrical and control installation, commissioning and fault-finding.

• High-speed rotating equipment installation and commissioning.

• Working knowledge of separation or similar machines.

• Experience in General Engineering

• Budget Control

• Computer Literate: MS Office, MS Projects

• Well-developed oral and written communication skills (this role will deal with customers, suppliers, and colleagues at various levels)

• Someone with Initiative, energy, and an eye for detail

• The ability to think laterally and do complex problem solving.

• Ability to co-ordinate several projects, running concurrent, ensuring that all deadlines and budgets are met.

• The ability to work acording to deadlines and adapt a flexible approach to meet the requirements of Site business.

• Good skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.), MS Projects and ERP system experience
