Maintenance Manager (packhouse)

Job Description
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- N1-N3 in Electrical Engineering, or relevant qualification (Electrical Trade)
- Diploma/Degree in Facility Management (advantageous)
- 5-7 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in a management role or similar, in high volume packhouse operation in the citrus industry
- Proven experience as Maintenance Manager or other managerial role
- Experience in planning maintenance operations
- Understanding BRCGS Standard, health and safety requirements
- Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, electrical systems etc.
- Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation;
- Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues;
- Check electrical and mechanical systems of buildings to ensure functionality;
- Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities;
- Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff (maintenance team);
- Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary;
- Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance;
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers;
- Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities; and
- Ensure health and safety policies are complied with.
- Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining composure;
- Ability to be assertive while at the same time maintaining a high level of respect;
- Ability to work extended hours where required;
- High attention to detail;
- Communicate in a professional manner with people at all levels;
