Our client is looking for a proactive Maintenance Fitter who will keep equipment running at peak performance and ensure seamless production with minimal downtime.
This role involves performing routine preventive maintenance to keep machines operating smoothly, ensuring building systems run efficiently, and maintaining the overall physical condition of facilities to prevent deterioration.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and address breakdowns for all machines, equipment, and vehicles.
• Carry out minor repairs, improvements, and fabrication of spares as needed.
• Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and lubricants according to specifications.
• Coordinate spare parts orders with Maintenance and Production Managers.
• Maintain maintenance records and statutory registers in line with QMS and OHAS requirements.
• Liaise with service companies on plant equipment, compressors, hoists, and forklifts.
• Conduct building maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical repairs as required.
• Follow QMS standards, GMP protocols, and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
• Control CCPs, sanitize workshop areas, and support HACCP and H&S activities.
• Monitor contractors, enforce safety compliance, and maintain high housekeeping standards.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Trade Tested Certificate.
• On-the-job training in process and production procedures.
• Valid driver's licence.
• Strong maintenance background with basic plumbing and electrical knowledge.
• Understanding of HACCP systems and ISOPE01; in-depth knowledge of ISOPH02.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and troubleshoot effectively.
• Willing to be on call one week in every three.
• Minimum of two years' maintenance experience in a similar environment.
