Maintenance Fitter reporting to the Maintenance Foreman

New Concept Mining - Aeroton, Johannesburg

Purpose of the role

To ensure the uninterrupted and proper functioning of all machinery
To perform mechanical preventative maintenance daily

Qualification Requirements

Qualified Red seal trade tested Fitter
Min 3 years post trade test experience within a manufacturing environment
Valid Code 8 drivers license
Must be able to work shifts, overtime and standby if needed

Knowledge & Experience (At management discretion)

Good mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faultfinding skills
Ability to prepare and read mechanical schematics
Solid knowledge and experience on Lathes and Milling machine
Ability to perform well under pressure
Proven Mechanical experience
Good communication skills
Be physically fit

Maintenance Equipment & Record Keeping

Repair and maintenance of equipment as per equipment standards
Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed

Job cards completed accurately
Inspecting equipment and material

Complete inspection checklists
Troubleshooting and identifying causes for equipment malfunctions

Reduction in recurring breakdowns

Maintenance Planning

Liaise with Maintenance Department to perform scheduled maintenance

Adhere to planning schedule
Acquiring material and spares before performing planned maintenance

Good stock control
Maintain equipment availability standards and plan corrective and preventative maintenance - 90% machine availability

Environmental, Health and Safety awareness and Housekeeping

Ensure housekeeping of plant and general areas facilitates a tidy, neat environment - this includes cleaning of maintenance equipment

Adhere to OHSACT regulations

Technical Assets

Maintain control over technical assets eg; Tools, critical spares, welding equipment and machinery.

Cost control within the department is to be maintained

Execution of all projects to system/process improvements and new equipment within time allocated

Apllications close 30 August 2023 and applications will be reviewed during the process.
