It is home to some of the best-known South African tea, coffee, and creamer brands, including our delicious range of much-loved savoury and sweet biscuits, and our melt-in-your-mouth snack range.An opportunity has become available for a Maintenance Fitter to join the team at N ational Brands Ltd, Durban Tea Factory.The role will report directly to the Engineering Foreman and be responsible for the plant andmaintenance and repairs of high-speed packaging equipment and other plant and equipment.Key Performance Areas:Carry out breakdown repair work on mechanical equipment and also assist in ensuring that equipment is running at optimal levelsCarry out planned and preventative maintenance schedules as assignedPlan shutdown work on plant and equipmentReview planned maintenance tasks and update the maintenance task listComplete root cause and failure analysis on prolonged and repeated breakdownsRecord all maintenance data (Downtime, spares, and improvement recommendations) on Shopware/CMMSAssist in equipment commissioning phasesContinuously seeking ways to improve plant performanceImplementation of continuous improvement projects in the factoryContinuously monitor machine performance and be proactive in rectifying potential problems detectedContinuously adhere to and engage in safe working practicesAdhere to the company safety policy.Ensure all mechanical installations comply with the requirements of the OHS ACTMinimum Requirements:Experience:Have a minimum of 10 yearsxe2x80x99 solid experience with High-Speed Packaging machinery working in a manufacturing facilityWelding experienceQualifications:Trade tested at an Accredited Training FacilityN3 Fitter- Mechanical Trade Theory in Mechanical EngineeringComputer literacy xe2x80x93 Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (e-mail),Welding (TIG & Arc) and fabricationProficient in machining (Proficient in using a steel lathe, surface grinder and milling machine)Additional Requirements:Plant maintenance experienceGeneral fitting and problem-solving experienceThe design and construction of basic steel structures will be advantageousBasic knowledge of world-class maintenance systems and techniquesBasic planning, designing, and machine setting experienceMust be computer literateExcellent Fault-Finding AbilitiesGood knowledge of Shopware CMMS system or similarMust be in possession of a valid driverxe2x80x99s license with own transport to be available for shift workCompetencies:Planning & OrganisingWorking TogetherMeeting DeadlinesMinimising RiskAttention to DetailMaintaining ProductivityTaking InitiativeResolving Conflict
