Are you a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge? Our client a manufacturer of steel products in the northern suburbs requires an Engineer, bilingual in Afrikaans and English, proactive with experience managing a team of artisans.



The position involves identifying and resolving faulty machines to ensure the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment.

Requirements:

Matric, or equivalent qualification TECH Mechanical Advanced mathematical skills Own reliable transport 5+ years or more relevant experience Proven track record of managing artisans Sound technical ability and understanding of mechanical machines Able to read, understand and record production figures Strong sense for quality, speed, and cost-effective production principles Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Duties and Responsibilities:

Schedule machine maintenance for equipment uptime Oversee the maintenance team and ensure that all maintenance activities are executed as planned Identify opportunities to enhance maintenance processes, improve equipment reliability, and optimize overall production efficiency Analyse data (verbal and numerical) to find workable solutions to problems Set clear objectives, plan activities well in advance and manage time effectively Train and develop the maintenance staff to ensure they are well-versed in safe operating procedures, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques Uphold team productivity and effectively manage artisans Prepare and maintain safety compliance reports Vendor management and reporting Asset cost management * Work productively in a stressful environment
