Job Description

General

1. Adhere to safety regulations at all times, ensuring the safety of co-workers by identifying and addressing potential hazards promptly. Utilize emergency buttons to stop machines posing safety risks to staff or products.

2. Maintain adherence to food-safe procedures and promptly report any deviations to the Shift Technician, offering recommendations for improvement.

3. Set machine/equipment parameters as directed by the Shift Technician.

4. Monitor and report any equipment abnormalities such as leaks, strange noises, or malfunctions promptly to the Shift Technician.

5. Conduct regular checks on machinery and equipment to ensure they meet required quality specifications, reporting faulty equipment to the Shift Technician.

6. Responsible for site and machinery housekeeping, including sweeping, dusting, and wiping floors and machine surfaces.

7. Perform routine tasks as required to meet daily operational demands. 8.

Off Take Area

9. Conduct product quality checks during production according to relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and report any deviations to the Shift Technician.

10. Handle, weigh, pack, label, wrap, and strap products as per SOPs.

Complete checklists, records, and computer database inputs as required by SOPs or directed by the Shift Technician

Charging Area

12. Thoroughly clean Maguire mixing system, Ribbon Blender, and bins during product change-overs to prevent contamination.

13. Inspect raw materials and regrind before use to ensure correct materials are utilized.

14. Monitor raw material levels in bins/ribbon blender, replenishing when required, and handle virgin materials with care to prevent spillage or contamination.

Grinding Area

15. Ensure bins are clean before adding any grinding material.

16. Grind reusable plastic waste, monitor grinder power consumption, and ensure blowers are functioning correctly.

17. Print and check bin labels for easy identification and retrieval, ensuring all materials are securely covered to prevent contamination.

Warehouse Area

18. Stack pallets and bins neatly with easy access to fire extinguishers. Ensure emergency exits are always unobstructed.

19. Perform daily checks on forklift(s) before operating, reporting any faults promptly.

Maintain cleanliness and order in the warehouse area at all times.

At least 4 years' experience working on a plastic extruder. Basic Raw Materials knowledge
