Injection Moulding Machine Setter Engineering ~ Manufacturing
Port Elizabeth - Eastern Cape - South Africa
We are seeking an experienced Injection Moulding Machine Setter to join the production team and ensure the smooth, efficient, and compliant running of the injection moulding operations.
The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to achieving quality and productivity targets. Working shifts, you will oversee machine set-ups, process optimisation, staff coordination, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, requiring resilience, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently under pressure.
Qualifications & Experience

• Level 4 Plastic Federation Injection Machine Setting Certificate (NQF6).
• Minimum 3 years experience in IMM setting, process optimisation, and plastics manufacturing.
• Supervisory experience in a production/shift environment.
• Strong problem-solving techniques and ability to train personnel.
• South African citizenship required.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage production staff and oversee daily shift operations.
• Set and optimise injection moulding machines and ancillary equipment.
• Monitor and achieve production targets (scrap %, cycle times, etc.).
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems and Environmental Management Systems.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes and products.
• Review non-conforming products with the quality team and enforce corrective actions.
• Maintain strong housekeeping, safety, and compliance standards.
• Stand in for absent setters and work overtime when required.
