Job Description

Duties and responsibilities:
Operations

  • Operate mowing and other gardening equipment.
  • Ensure equipment is signed out for and returned to the store daily.
  • Hand in, after inspections, weekly report on equipment.
  • General maintenance and cleaning of gardens and terrain within working hours.
  • Follow the daily program schedule or as instructed by the line manager.
  • Complete schedule according to UE standard operating procedures and protocol set.
  • Load general/ garden refuse.
  • Responsible for litter picking, service refuse bins etc.
  • Report any breakages, lost or ineffective equipment to management.
  • Assist with general gardening and refuse maintenance.
  • Assist in ensuring the campus is kept neat and clean.
Internal Reporting
  • Report to supervisor.
  • Maintain maintenance program and checklist sign-off.
Quality Assurance
  • Ensure all grounds/terrain are maintained within accordance with standard procedures and specifications.
  • Ensure cleaning of equipment and workspace.
  • Ensure safe working procedure with equipment.
  • Comply with health and safety standards.
  • Comply with PPE clothing.
  • Upkeep of equipment - ensure all equipment is within health and safety standards.
Inherent Job requirements:
  • Grade 10 on NQF level 2.
  • A minimum of two (2) year's relevant working experience relating to the duties and responsibilities.
Recommendations:
  • Machine operating certificate.
  • Utilize all relevant equipment correctly.
  • Services sheet completion, write and read.

Salary:
The annual remuneration package, including benefits, is R111 439,19, depending on the budget available for the position, relevant work experience and qualifications.
