Job SummaryEEA vacancy has arisen for a Logistics Manager in the operations team. The incumbent will be based in Gqeberha, reporting directly to the Business Operations Manager.Key responsibilities in the job will be as follows-Key Result Areas
Promote core operating principles of Safety and Health, Environmental Stewardship, Highest Ethical Behaviour, Respect for People & Quality throughout the companyRecommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency and monitor all transport costs associated with the business to ensure we remain in line with requirements.
Establish or monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
Create procedures for logistics activities.
Train department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding local/global logistics strategies.
Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.
Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics, packaging or delivery times.
Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customers.
Co-ordinate the expediting of urgent, priority shipments or back-order items through effective communication with all relevant departments such as sales, technical and planning and purchasing.
Communicate back orders and special requests from customers with management and relevant stakeholders based on products ordered.
Highlight risks timeously and any express or air freight requirements to senior management.
Effective resolution of transactional queries, Timeous CPU processing to ensure stock accuracy.
Obtain the necessary approvals for transactions as per DOA and SOX process.
Strictly adhere to the SOX processes
Manage inventory through company SOX process and ensure health of inventory.
Manage the performance of outsourced WH staff and costs associated with it.
Manage 3 x warehouses between Gqeberha, Durban and Pretoria as well as any other satellite warehouses.
Develop KPI's for internal and outsourced warehouses and ensure implementation and tracking monthly.
Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification or performance evaluation, set up KPI's
Manage for stock losses/gains through active inventory management and systems
Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
Overseeing the investigation of stock take count variances and corrective action plansCollaborate with customer managers to improve supply chain efficiency or sustainability.
Assess risks of supply chain and implement actions to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios.
Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes and ensure strict adherence to these systems and processes.
Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, different laboratories, finance, HR and Production, Planning and Purchasing
Analyze the financial impact of proposed logistics changes, such as routing, product volumes or mixes, or carriers.
Manage inventory at all facilities in terms of cycle counts, accuracy, stock health to ensure high level of service delivery to customers.
Ensure all relevant tracking, performance reports are monitored, and improvements actions are put in place to ensure we maintain customer service.
Manage objectives, performances and Individual performance for direct reports
Coaching, training and development of team. Prepare PDA's and implement annual training plan.
Ensure compliance with BBBEE objectives.
Conduct regular cycle counts and bi-annual stock counts.
Manage team and create an environment where the team can feel motivated and create a culture of high performance.
Complete to any reasonable requests from senior management that falls within your capabilities.Skill, Knowledge and Experience Requirements:

SAP WH experience
High level of computer literacy

ND Logistics or Supply Chain management or equivalent
Minimum 5 years supervisory or managerial experience in an Automotive manufacturing environment.
SAP WH experience
