Logistics Manager (Automotive Industry)

Location: Pretoria, Gauteng.
Position Overview:
A multinational leader in the vehicle manufacturing industry requires the services of a Logistics Manager who is a team player with strong cross-functional collaboration skills, decisive, and strategically minded.
The main purpose of this position is to develop the logistics road map for the future - plan and implementation of an effective logistics flow.
The Logistics Manager will lead a logistics team to achieve the following:

• An effective all logistics flows - KD (system and physical) in line with the necessary principles.
• To estimate and optimize resources used in Logistics (man, machines, area, costs etc) to match the build-rates and also provide logistics resource information to any project affecting logistics.
• Develop and execute production planning and management of critical control room (CCR) to achieve daily production units.
• To drive the implementation of the concerns strategy and continuous improvement in line with logistics principles.

To be considered for this position, one must have:

• A Master's Degree will be an advantage.
• A completed Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Process Engineer, Industrial Engineer, Logistics Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, essential.
• A minimum of 8 years' experience in the Truck/Commercial Automotive Business and Lean manufacturing.
• Strong leadership skills and demonstrated experience in leading teams.
• Strong Logistics Managerial and Engineering skills - Process Knowledge, Systems Knowledge, Lean Thinking, Resource Calculations, Layouts etc.
• Computer skills - MS Office especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Port and Transportation Regulations.
• Knowledge on SARS rebate and Crapping Process.
• ERP System knowledge e.g. Syspro or SAP.
