LOGISTICS MANAGER

Stems Fruit is a fruit export company that specializes in the marketing of Stone Fruit.
Duties and responsibilities will include:

• Negotiations with shipping lines and carriers & monitoring of costs
• Management of the total export logistical chain for both sea and air freight (forecasts, booking of containers and transport, instructions to shipping lines / freight forwarders, etc.)
• Effective management of all relevant documentation
• Timeous and accurate capturing of all relevant information and data on DiPAR system
• Circulation of packing list to respective receivers
• Keeping the commercial team and international receivers informed regarding vessel departures & arrivals
• Management of shipping claims
• Building and maintaining relationships with producers, clients and service providers
• Staying up to date with international trade regulations and ensuring shipments comply with export requirements (various commodities across market segments)
• Delegating and monitoring tasks performed by Logistics Administrator
• Analysing logistical data to support strategic decision-making

• A relevant tertiary qualification
• 3-5 years logistical experience in fruit exports
• Very good communication & interpersonal skills (English and Afrikaans)
• A confident, energetic, and dynamic personality
• Excellent planning & organisational skills
• Good negotiation skills
• High levels of emotional intelligence
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Adaptability and ability to manage change
• Ability to function well under pressure and prioritise tasks
• Detail orientated
• Advanced computer literacy
