Making Cents International, as part of the USAID YouthPower2: Learning and Evaluation (YP2LE) Activity, is recruiting for three Logisticians, one per country, for upcoming case study activities focused on youth workforce development (YWFD) sustainable systems reform initiatives in the Philippines, South Africa, and Tunisia. The case studies will increase understanding of effective approaches for supporting improved, scaled, and sustainable YWFD outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. The case studies will also contribute to the growing literature around positive youth development as well as USAIDxe2x80x99s agenda (including the ). This learning will enable USAID to design and manage more responsive programming and to foster peer learning across successful YWFD reform initiatives. Each Logistician will be part of a research team comprised of a team lead, researcher, and interpreter based in the case study country.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with the research team and Making Cents on plans, costs, and logistics.

Coordinate logistics for the research team to conduct key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and workshops, including confirming timing, locations/venue, safety and security of the area, and availability of necessary materials.

Coordinate with Making Cents to organize air travel, ground transportation, and lodging.

Provide remote support to research team as they travel for data collection, meetings, and workshops and serve as the main point of contact on transportation, lodging, logistics, and related coordination issues.

Coordinate the collation of travel receipts and other travel-related expenses for workshops and research team travel.

Provide updates and report to the Team Lead.

Participate in team meetings and briefings, as needed.

Liaise with the Making Cents to confirm adherence with regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

Based in South Africa.

Bachelorxe2x80x99s Degree in a relevant field and at least 1 year of experience; OR a High School Degree (or equivalent) and 6 years of experience.

At least 3 years of demonstrable experience providing logistics support for research teams.

Spoken and written fluency in English.

Spoken and written fluency in official languages of case study site, such as Bantu languages.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting travel and other logistics needs for international development and research-oriented projects and clients.

Proposed Level of Effort and Work Schedule:

Estimated maximum Level of Effort will be 17 days between September 2023 xe2x80x93 March 2024.
