Complement Recruitment are recruiting for Lodge Manager for a 5* Safari Bush Lodge in Botswana. This is a permanent live-in position with benefits.
Minimum Requirements Qualifications And Skills
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • At least 3 xe2x80x93 5 years Management Experience in a 5-star boutique operation
  • Hospitality and Service Training Experience
  • In depth knowledge of classic and current food and beverage trends and market

SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Energetic, proactive person with well-developed concept of the importance of providing a world-class guest experience, and the ability to provide that experience
  • Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation
  • Driven, energetic, compassionate and ambitious, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Unrelenting attention to detail and high standards
  • Structured manager with experience of leading diverse teams
  • Open minded and able to think outside of the box
  • The ability to motivate and inspire yourself and others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication
  • Fluent in English essential. Other European languages are beneficial

KEY OUTPUTS:
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations of the lodge. This includes all aspects that affects the guest experience
  • Direct line management responsibility for the lodge
  • Human resource management and staff development of direct team members
  • Build upon the existing guest experience to create new ideas and to ensure the product remains fresh and modern, whilst staying true to the history of the area xe2x80x93 this includes guest delights, accommodation, food, staff, activities
  • Building relationships with new and repeat guests
  • Maintaining and reinforcing an environment where the organisational standards are continuously met and visible throughout the daily functioning of the property.
  • Ensure lodge to do lists are actioned and completed (within budget)
  • Hospitality xe2x80x93 Guest Scores: Support the HOD Team where required to ensure that Guest Scores are reached and exceeded.
  • Hospitality xe2x80x93 Training: Establish Training needs across the departments and formulate a plan to ; evaluate and measure training. Key Metric: Establish training needs; Prioritize these needs;
  • Execute the training; Establish a skills matrix for all staff; Evaluate all staff against this; Formulate a process to train staff to enable them to gain necessary skills
  • Understand personal guest needs through interaction
  • Ensure that minimum standards as per BOPs are adhered to in all departments
  • Promote and Instill an ethic of Guest Care and Guest interaction throughout all departments
  • Promote and instill a passion for Going the Extra Mile throughout all departments
  • Closely manage all guest delight activities together with other management, butlers, guides, housekeepers and other staff as necessary
  • Assist with monthly planning xe2x80x93 training, guest requirement and staffing levels
  • Familiarize yourself and adhere to the Company Policies and Procedures
