Live In Aid
Job Description
We are in search of a competent, patient, reliable, and naturally compassionate individual to be a live-in for a disabled 21-year-old boy with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). He is intelligent and easy to work with but requires help in day-to-day things.
Responsibilities will include feeding, changing, dressing, washing, brushing teeth, night work involving turning, as well as working with tracheostomy and ventilators, with housekeeping responsibilities. You will receive hands-on training for all of this.
The ideal candidate is someone who's naturally caring and energetic, passionate, driven, hardworking, patient, attentive, works well under pressure, and isn't afraid to learn new things and ask questions, and is good at multitasking.
Non-negotiables include being able to live-in with two weekends off, fluency in both English and Afrikaans, being between 25 and 45 years old, being based in or able to relocate to the greater Cape Town area, and being able to arrange transport.
Bonus points if you have a driver's license, no dependents, previous experience caring, and are good with technology.
