About the Firm:

Our client is a well-established en recognised legal firm in the Cape Town Northern Suburbs. Known for its commitment to excellence and comprehensive legal services across diverse disciplines, this prestigious firm seeks a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join its expanding team and uphold its legacy of legal expertise.

Role Summary:

Step into a critical role managing a broad spectrum of mainly litigation matters. You'll leverage your deep understanding of South African legal practices and procedures, tackling complex legal issues with professionalism and sharp legal acumen.

Key Responsibilities, not limited to the following:

• Represent clients in a variety of courts and tribunals, handling both civil and criminal litigation matters.
• Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, motions, and agreements.
• Provide sound legal advice and guidance to clients on a multitude of legal issues.
• Conduct thorough legal research and analysis, interpreting laws, rulings, and regulations for individual and corporate clients.
• Manage negotiations and settlements in civil disputes, aiming for optimal outcomes.
• Mentor junior attorneys and clerks, fostering professional growth within the team.

Requirements

About You:

• Admission as an Attorney in South Africa, with at least 10 years of proven experience as an admitted attorney.
• Profound knowledge of civil and criminal law, procedures, and court processes, and, as would be advantageous, other areas of law .
• Strong analytical, research, and negotiation skills, along with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to build strong relationships and a network of referrals and clients for the firm.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, fostering trust and collaboration with clients and colleagues.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.
• Unyielding professional ethics, integrity, and dedication, upholding the highest standards of legal practice.
• Strong bilingual skills in English and Afrikaans.
