Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

As an integral member of our infrastructure team, the Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for the full administration (managing, troubleshooting, licensing, and updating of software assets) of Centos Linux servers hosted in VMWare.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Reporting to the Head: IT, you are responsible:

For the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of all Centos servers

To install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes

To troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues

To perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures

For capacity, storage planning, and system performance

To perform duties with moderate to low supervision

To use monitoring to track changes in patterns of systems performance and security

For account access management.

To translate business requirements into specifications

To ensure proper configuration management and change controls are implemented

For SIEM Reporting and monitoring

System Administration and IT Certifications in Linux and other network related fields.

3-5 years of database, network administration, and Linux system administration experience.

Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols

Experience with scripting and automation tools

Requires strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.

Additional Technologies used: Docker, JBoss Fuse, Apache Camel, JBoss Drools, AWS, Java, ManageEngine Log360 and ADAudit, Icanga, SIEM
