Aginion is seeking a

Linux Server Administrator

to join our team full-time (40 hours/week). This is a fully remote position, open to candidates based

anywhere in South Africa

Role Overview

You will play a key role in maintaining and evolving our Linux-based infrastructure, supporting both internal systems and client environments. Your focus will be on automation, scalability, reliability, and security across a broad range of services and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy and configure Linux-based services and customer solutions Optimize and expand our multi-site infrastructure architecture Manage and improve virtualization and container environments Implement monitoring and resource management solutions Automate log collection, analysis, and alerting Develop and maintain scripts and automation workflows Evaluate and integrate new technologies and tools

Skills & Technologies

We are looking for candidates who already have experience in, or are keen to deepen their expertise with:


Operating Systems: Red Hat- and Debian-based distributions Virtualization: KVM/Proxmox and related technologies Web Servers/Proxies: Nginx, Nginx Unit, Tomcat, HAProxy Databases: MariaDB, PostgreSQL, SQLite Scripting & Automation: Bash scripting and Python Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code experience is a plus. (Our DevOps setup is based on Gitlab/Saltstack + Terraform).
