TEAM: Linux Server - Operations Engineering
The Linux Server product provides fully managed Linux Server infrastructure for all Group departments globally.
The Group IT Hub South Africa delivers innovative IT solutions and comprehensive operations support including Development and Operations for SAP, JAVA, Azure, Cloud, and more, serving as an internal partner with deep insight into Group's compliance and IT methodology processes.
Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or in progress)
• Minimum of 1-2 years working experience in an operations team and environment
• Proven ability to manage and correct system configurations and entries
• Strong time management and task prioritization capabilities
• Experience developing accurate reporting data and dashboards
• Ability to support operations tasks across multiple products

Role

• Assist in managing time management operations and tasks across multiple products
• Support process tasks and contribute to efficient execution and reporting
• Manage and maintain daily operations and tasks
• Help implement technical lifecycle measures and identify security practices
• Steering the measurements and communication of operation KPIs and defining necessary measures to improve quality
• Monitor and maintain the health and performance of applications
• Analyse application logs and metrics to identify and address potential issues proactively
• Participate in operation meetings and learn from experienced team members
• Assist infrastructure feature teams in post-processing of incidents
• Leading postmortem treatment of major and critical incidents
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring minimal downtime and impact on users
• Leading specific operation meetings for processing of major and critical incidents
• Learn and contribute to system design requirements for stable operation
• Support integration requirements for critical applications
• Supporting with the development of the system design about the requirements for stable operation (design for run)
• Integrating requirements for critical applications from the regulated business units (e.g., Group Bank, Alphabet)
• Steering the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) for business-critical processes
• Ensure adherence to security and compliance standards in all operational activities
• Requesting measures in the PRIME processes for the implementation of operational and compliance requirements from the infrastructure
• Implement and maintain monitoring and alerting solutions for applications and infrastructure
• Prioritizing the necessary operational scope for applications of business-critical processes for the backlog
• Planning and ensuring the appropriate use of the overarching operation budget
• Assist in planning and ensuring appropriate use of operation resources
• Collaborate with product stakeholders to support development activities
• Apply agile methods to improve operations processes
• Provide support to team members and contribute to a collaborative environment
• Engage in continuous learning and development opportunities
• Active participation in Agile ceremonies
• Document operational procedures, incident reports and troubleshooting guides
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
