Job Description


The purpose of this position is to provide local coordination and support for bidirectional referrals capacities/systems in the Ehlanzeni and Nkangala Districts of Mpumalanga Province, under the USAID-funded and m2m-led Children and Adolescents Are My Priority project - as part of our expanding multi-million dollar five-year, USAID -funded grant for orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) which is in its third implementing year. This pivotal role will focus on referrals and linkages for approximately 26,000 vulnerable adolescent women and girls 10-19 years under the DREAMS (Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored and Safe) initiative. This holistic programming is helping to build the capacity of the most vulnerable girls and their entire families to meet their basic needs, by removing economic barriers to HIV testing and treatment, reducing HIV stigma in the community, and improving education and knowledge in the community about HIV.Job RequirementsCoordination of linkages, partnerships, and DREAMS interventions
- Help coordinate and actively support referral pathways with USAID partners that deliver a range of multisectoral services for OVC and adolescent girls and young women (10-19 years) and their caregivers in supported sub- districts, including HIV prevention (PrEP), sexual and reproductive health, social asset building, GBV, and other social and clinical services;
- Actively assist with implementation of group-based parenting interventions for DREAMS in sub-districts and help achieve pre-determined targets and linkages to external services for the beneficiaries;Supervision and capacity development
- Assist with trainings for field teams for optimal referrals, community mapping, stakeholder engagement, and information sharing;
- Assist with workplans and reporting as required for DREAMS implementation, with the aim of achieving ambitious targets (predetermined by funder) for enrollment and referral outcomes
- Manage CHAMP's DREAMS Lead Facilitators (approx. 2-4 per Linkage Officer) and ensure timely reporting, monitoring and analysis of referral outcomes against set targets.
Partner/stakeholder management
- Engage local leaders, CBOs, NGOs, and key government partners (DoH, DoSD, DBE) and provide sensitization about CHAMP service deliveryQualifications and experience:
- Qualification: Nursing Assistant or equivalent experience (3-4 years) in Linkage Officer (or similar) role
- Experience with OVC and/or adolescent health programming preferred
- Knowledge of community -based health service delivery and case management models
- Fluent in written and spoken English and competent at written communication and reporting writing
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Knowledge of DOH systems and protocolsCompetencies required
- Excellent attention to detail and deadlines
- Ability to engage and sustain meaningful relationships with stakeholders and government /implementing partners
- Good problem-solving ability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
