Job Overview
We're seeking a highly skilled Level 3 IT Technician to join a dynamic UK-based Managed Service Provider (MSP). This is a fully remote role open to candidates based in South Africa who thrive in fast-paced environments and are passionate about complex infrastructure and systems support. As the final point of technical escalation, you'll be instrumental in designing IT solutions, resolving advanced technical issues, and mentoring junior technicians - all while working with a cutting-edge tech stack in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the final escalation point for complex IT issues, supporting a diverse client base.
• Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot:

• Windows Server & Active Directory (including Group Policy, DNS/DHCP)
• Microsoft 365 & Exchange Online
• Virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V, VMware)
• Firewalls and networking (VLANs, VPNs, routing)
• Backup & disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Datto)
• Perform scripting and automation tasks using PowerShell or Python.
• Utilise RMM and PSA tools (particularly ConnectWise).
• Lead incident response and root cause analysis.
• Contribute to infrastructure design and implementation.
• Create and maintain SOPs, documentation, and technical standards.
• Provide occasional client-facing consultation and project support.
• Mentor Level 1 and 2 technicians and assist with technical training.

• 3-5+ years of IT support experience, ideally within an MSP environment.
• Proven expertise in server, network, and cloud infrastructure management.
• Certifications strongly preferred:

• CompTIA Network+, Security+
• Microsoft (MS-900, AZ-104, or legacy MCSA/MCSE)
• Cisco CCNA
• ITIL Foundation
• VMware, Fortinet, AWS or Azure Fundamentals
• Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
• Proficiency with RMM/PSA tools (ConnectWise, Autotask, HaloPSA).
• Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have access to a reliable laptop and stable, high-speed internet.
